Sold 16ft Handmade Yurt With Log Burner - South Cheshire

Description

Hand made Unique Roundwood 16ft Yurt (approx 5m)

This is a used quirky yurt that currently needs a little TLC to restore it to its former glory. It's still got plenty of life left in it and would make an ideal extra space or glamping unit for someone who's happy to put in a bit of time and love!

White Regentex 12oz Polycotton Canvas FWR (Fire, Water, Rot resistant)
Canvas wall is in 2 parts, with Olive PVC skirt. Silicon flu collar is incorporated into the wall canvas.
Tension band + Roof canvas + crown cover with clear PVC panel

Frame and roof is handmade from coppiced hazel poles, consisting of:

3 x wall trellis, 34 roof poles + Crown (steam bent ash with hazel brace)

Wooden door with bolt and latch, plus wooden door frame that can be taken apart easily.

Heavy duty PVC ground sheet in olive green

Portable log burning stove, 3kw from KP Stoves, heat resistant silicon collar (installed in yurt wall), rear exit flu plus extra flu sections.

This is a beautiful handmade 16ft yurt, made from coppiced hazel and finished in 2017.
Its been used a few times as a rental for honeymoon accommodation, as a bar for a hen party, and various other functions, however it's never been up for very long, so the canvas is still waterproof and in good condition, it's got a few dirty marks due to handling and storage.

Other points to note are:

The crown canvas cover is showing some mildew, as is the roof canvas (only a little on the roof canvas), however I'm sure this would come off either just using water or I have also got some 'Wet and Forget' that will remove the mildew - yours if you want it. I did receive a quote for a new crown cover to be made for around £200. If you're handy you could probably make one yourself for much less.

Some of the grommets have come off on the ground sheet and on the canvas, these can be easily repaired, I have the tools, which can be included in the sale.
1 roof pole is missing now, however the yurt is still functional and stable. I have some 'raw' poles, waiting to be stripped, sanded, shaped and oiled, I just haven't got round to replacing these yet. There's a hazel tree here that you are welcome to take some potential roof poles from!

The log burner has been stored outside for a couple of months so needs a repaint, I have some stove paint for that and may get it done myself.

Door and frame need sanding and re-varnishing.
Ropes and 4 x heavy duty mooring pins are also included if wanted.

The price reflects the condition and age of the yurt. The yurt is currently being stored at my home, I may assemble it in the garden again and continue to work on restoring it myself. Viewings are welcome however I may need some notice if you want to see it assembled. I’m happy to offer any advice on how to restore it and maintain it, if required, also happy to deliver and assemble at your site for an extra fee.
