Hand-Made 12 Foot Yurt - Berkshire

Description

We are selling our yurt that we no longer require as a storage space and hope to find it a good home.

This yurt is is nearly 20 years old, but two years ago we completely renewed the canvas and renovated parts of the woodwork. The frame is strongly made of ash wood. The wooden wall structure is in three pieces which can be folded down like a concertina. A new wooden wheel at the top has been made using oak and parts of the ash door frame have been replaced also using oak.

The yurt is 12 feet in diameter (about 360cm). The wall is about five feet high (150cm) and the maximum internal height is 8 feet 6 inches (260cm) which makes the internal space very useable.

Over the summer a few small leaks have appeared in the roof and there are two holes at the bottom of the wall a few cm long (mice, maybe?). The canvas looks generally sound, but as there is clearly a need for some re-waterproofing and repairs we have greatly reduced the price as we really need to get the space back. We have a length of canvas, left over from the remade coverings in 2024, for any patching needed, which will be included.

The yurt can be viewed near Reading in Berkshire.
